Moving Day to Mulberry, FL

Today we packed up and moved to Mulberry, FL.

We are boondocking at a wonderful couples house (I didn’t get permission to post their name or photo – but will do so tomorrow)  We found them through Boondockers Welcome. If you are into boondocking check out this site.  We hit the road at 10 AM and took some of the back highways up to Mulberry; for a while I wasn’t sure about the rough back roads until we started seeing all the Bald Eagles nesting.

There are two in this nest.

The power company builds these neat platforms for the eagles and osprey to build their nest on, but they still like the power poles!   We saw one nest on top of a cell tower that was at least seven feet across.

After my backup and doing others things to get pictures of the bald eagles the transmission on the Ole Dodge didn’t feel right :(.  After we set up a Mulberry I took her out for a spin without the fifthwheel and she shifted just right.  Pray that the computer just needed the reset.

Here we are all set up in Mulberry:

A little bit of a tight fit.

Our hosts have a Bounder motor home.. They were some of the first all-weather RVs made by Fleetwood and are a very good construction.

Peggy fixed her famous “Old World Supper” for our guests which we have been making since our Bahamas days.

:
Old World Sauerkraut Supper

Ingredients:
3 strips bacon cooked crisp
2 large cans sauerkraut or one head of cabbage (we prefer all fresh veggies)
2 small potatoes cubed
4 medium carrots cubed
2 small apples cubed
3 tablespoons brown sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons caraway seed
1 pound polish sausage or more cut in pieces
1/2 cup water
salt and pepper
1/2 cup vinegar if using cabbage
3 teaspoons flour

Directions:
Fry bacon until crisp, drain.  Add flour to bacon drippings and blend well.  Stir in sauerfraut or cabbage, mix well, place bacon pieces in pot over sauerkraut mixture.
Add all other ingredients; stir together thoroughly, cover and cook in a pressure cooker, 5 minutes after letting come up to pressure.
Turn off heat, let pressure go down, open and enjoy, it also works in a crock pot and we sometimes put a little onion in it.  It is a great fresh veggie meal.

This meal is better as a leftover also so we often make a big batch!

New dining table cloth.

Queen size hid-a-bed sofa.

                                           Queen size hid-a-bed sofa.

I am showing these photos as since we went on the “rig walk through” last week we think we may be taking out the dinette and replacing it with a table and chairs, and also replacing the sofa with two reading chairs.  We will still have plenty of room for 4 grand kids to sleep over!  We will see how the budget works out later in the year.

The next two days we will be visiting friends and family in the area.  Tonight will we very cold and we have roaming chickens in the neighborhood that will probably wake us up!

But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.  1 Timothy 6:11-12
