We took off at 9:30 for a trip to Englewood FL to see our dear friends Howard and Connie. Over the past 30+ years we and our family have spent lots of time in Englewood. We had lots of catching up to do.
So much catching up to do with kids and grandkids.
We ate lunch at Cafe 776 right on Indiana St. By far, this is one of the best seafood lunches we have had. We eat a lot of seafood. From the outside we have a little dive look here. Lots of outside seating with a kind of Tiki theme. Inside the usual seafood hanging on the wall decorations. We were greeted and seated quickly, and the place was packed. Nice menu, but the lunch special was a fish and shrimp basket for 10 bucks. Very large shrimp cooked just right. 2 monster pieces of Cod all sitting on a huge bed of fries. Taste was great. We put this on our map for a return visit.
After much more talks, we had a nice desert our host made. We tried to beat the rain and wind back to Little Willies RV Park in Arcadia Florida but it was pushing us. We got back at 8:00 to find the winds so strong it blew our outdoor welcome mats around and took our flag pole down. I had made the pole with a breakaway feature in case of high winds. 🙂
BLAST FROM THE PAST
A lot of our old pictures were lost and we cherish the few we have. We will have to see what the weather brings tomorrow.
